I am currently writing a piece for Momcast on wRSI and for Liberal Oasis on WHMP. I am going to promise to link to articles about Immunizations, which is a seriously contentious subject, and so here are some of my sources.
The Wired Article
A Short History of Vaccine Panic
CDC website
FDA consumer site
American Academy of Pediatrics
NYT article about the measles outbreak in San Diego
Salon article about the last swine flu
Amanda Peet is the anti-Jenny McCarthy
Wired links to anti-vaccine sites, for balance.
Can I just say that it is weird that the same people who cite Science when talking to creationists are the ones who boo when you talk about science as in the medical profession? Oh, wait, yes I can. It’s my blog. I have said it.
My baby girl turned five this week, and we are having many, many parties. The first was at Abby and Grendel’s house, and we watched WallE outside on the big screen!

Katy made southern-Ohio, super yummy Red Cake. Noms.

Uncle Stabby demonstrates his inherent awkwardness around people under 25.

Auntie Sprout and Audrey demonstrate their Happy Birthday Faces, and also their inherent cuteness.
ALSO THIS WEEK: Awesome Circus-ness!

“Fe Fi Fo…um…I smell a big toe!”
“Mama! I can’t see my own eyes!” And she does this weird eye thing where you can tell she is trying to see her eyes. Crazy.
I know it seems obvious, but when your kid says, so matter-of-factly yet so sweetly and sincerely, “I love you too, Mom”, well, just…sigh…
I blogged at LiberalOasis.com, and I recorded the same thing, without the clever links of course, to be spewed upon the airwaves at WHMP 1400AM News Information and the Arts, this Saturday at noon. I get all political ranty a bit, and on the blog part, I include a litte history lesson via Wikipedia and HowStuffWorks.com!
I am also blogging/talking at their sister station, WRSI The River. Check me out! I am a Media Empire unto myself! Fear me!
